Extensive dust and noise control on live-site
This project included demolition of several areas to allow us to construct a new 10-bed ICU/CCU, four operating theatres, a blood bank, a pharmacy and a 30-bed inpatient ward that adjoined the existing building. Due to the sensitive live-site environment of this project, H.Troon implemented dust and noise measures to reduce the impact on hospital operations. This was achieved by strict containment protocols with ceiling-high, fully taped hoardings, noise blankets and daily air-quality testing. We worked closely with the hospital to carefully schedule noisy activities around their operational requirements, ensuring that disruptions were kept to a minimum during critical hours.

Providing value for the client through cost savings and future-proofing construction.

Though this project was fully documented, H.Troon proposed 60 cost saving options to the client, of which 30 were selected as part of a value management exercise. To further improve whole-of-life value for the client, we incorporated elements that allowed for future expansion. This included recesses and pipework in the top floor ceiling, ensuring that the hospital can adapt and grow without requiring extensive redevelopment.
